How crazy is our world now? With COVID-19 consuming our lives, my focus needs to turn to light.
This morning as I was getting ready for my day, I kept thinking “let go and let God.” I feel that statement is very important for myself and many others.
We need to pay attention to the warnings from the CDC and our nation's leaders. We need to respect and do our part to protect ourselves, our families and our neighbors. And if you are like me, it can feel overwhelming. The constant conversations of the virus, the unknown, the media coverage, the daily emails from every company that has your email address… we can’t escape it.
Bottom line, this is our reality right now and we need to do our part including LET GO & LET GOD! When I get overwhelmed, I have to turn my worry into prayer. That is the only thing that brings me peace.
The virus feels like darkness - watching the infected and death toll numbers, the economic struggles and the uncertainty of what tomorrow holds is scary. That is why today, I want to encourage you to find your light.
Not only to pray for the situation and our leaders, but to thank God for all he is doing.
Thank God for the CDC and their knowledge and planning efforts to protect us.
Thank God for our leadership trying to get ahead of this with social distancing.
Thank God for our medical teams and all they are doing.
Thank God for the cure that so many are working on.
Thank God for the jobs we have - even if we can’t work today.
Thank God for walking through this with us and helping us find a way out; which we will!.
It is easy to get sucked into the darkness of it all, but it is important to take a break and find your light. Find something that uplifts you; a TV show that makes you laugh, music, talking to a friend, reading, watching a lighthearted movie, silly social videos - whatever works for you, add that to your daily schedule!
It is important to stay in touch with what is happening so we know what is best to do, but don’t let it consume you and for that to be all you are feeding your soul. It is important for our health to also add light daily to our routine.
GOD grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change, the COURAGE to change the things I can, and the WISDOM to know the difference.
You can control the ‘light’ in your life. I encourage you to add as much as you need to your daily schedule.
Sending you peace, love and joy my friend. Sam
